Offshore Renewable Energy Maps

This map from The Crown Estate shows all offshore renewable energy sites which they have leased in UK waters to date.

The Crown Estate produces maps showing the areas of seabed in the UK which it has leased for offshore renewable energy developments.

As managers of the UK’s seabed out to the 12 nautical mile limit, The Crown Estate has the rights to lease the UK seabed for renewable energy projects. This includes the undersea electricity cables and other infrastructure required for wind, wave and tidal energy projects.

The Crown Estate was first involved in offshore wind projects in 2000 and since then has also leased a number of areas of seabed for wave and tidal projects as well as being involved in natural gas storage and the capture and storage of CO2.

The Crown Estate plays a major role in the development of the offshore renewable energy and marine minerals industries as well as cables and pipeline infrastructure.

The Crown Estate has a variety of maps showing offshore activity in the UK which are regularly updated.
