Youth Forum

The RYANI Youth Forum is a consultative panel, which will facilitate direct consultation with youth on RYA initiatives. It also provide ssport leadership and development training.
 
  1. Who is it aimed at?
     All sailing and boat club members across Northern Ireland aged 12-16. 

  2. Why join? 
    Be some of the first to have a voice in your sport, become an ambassador in your Club and acquire new skills.

  3. What will it do for you? 
    Joining the forum gives you the opportunity to help input to the direction of our sport in Northern Ireland.  It will also add to your school profile, allow you to meet new, like - minded people and ultimately acquire new skills which can help enhance your career choices.

  4. Where will the programme take place? 
    Activities will take place at venues across Northern Ireland, including opportunities for activity days and a residential.  Some travel will be required.  Some engagement may need to take place online through platforms such as Zoom.  

  5. When? 
    It is planned to meet every 4 to 6 weeks, either face to face or online. The programme starts Saturday 25th September and will run until 31st March 2022 with approximately 10 sessions.  A full schedule will be shared with successful applicants.

  6. Will you need to attend all sessions?
    To get the most out of the programme, a positive level of commitment is required.   We appreciate, however, individuals may not be able to attend all sessions and this can be discussed with the Youth Forum Coordinator.

  7. How do you apply? 
    An application form outlining full instructions can be downloaded here.   Applications may e made by video or in writing.
    Numbers are limited and a selection panel shall make final decisions on awarding places.

  8. Are there any costs?
    A contribution towards certain sessions may be requested (e.g. activity day).  This will be confirmed in advance to all participants.

  9. Deadlines
    Those seeking to apply may do so by Sunday 5th September 2021.
